Youth Employment and Social Dialogue Project

DSC00286

With the financial support from the Norwegian Government under the Social Dialogue programme, CAMFEBA started to implement the Youth Employment and Social Dialogue project (YEP) in 2007 aiming to promote the employment and improve the income opportunities for youth in Cambodia through addressing the issue of skill mismatch. This project was a joint initiative between CAMFEBA and the ILO’s Bureau for Employers’ Activities (ILO ACTEMP). The project has worked very closely with the Royal Government of Cambodia, the employers, Trade unions, universities and other youth NGOs.

The programme has developed and implemented several innovative training programmes for youth on job seeking skills as well as professional development. The project has undertaken ground breaking research on the skills gap in Cambodia and spearheading initiatives to bridge the gap between the education sector and industry to ensure youth are equipped with skills when they enter the market. Through this project, CAMFEBA is positioning herself as a leader in labour market information systems tracking relevant information and influencing policy.
