EDUCATION AND SKILLS

Mr. Sok serves as Secretary General of the Cambodian Federation of Employers and Business Associations (CAMFEBA) –the peak employer and business association in Cambodia. He is currently Managing Director of Sok Xing & Hwang law and policy firm and a member of the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia, where he spearheads its public affairs and external relations.

Mr. Sok brings over 10 years of legal and executive experience in the private and public sectors to help clients in a range of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate and organizational restructurings, labor and employment, and general transactional matters. Mr. Sok represents corporations, financial institutions, financial services organizations and individual investors, helping guide clients to successful outcomes that further their business objectives. He has represented multinational corporate clients in spearheading project finance and M&A matters in Cambodia, as well as acted as lead negotiator to bring to a close investment disputes with counter-parties and concerned regulatory and tax agencies. He has also represented enterprises in the resolution of their industrial disputes and restructured their organizational workplace systems, processes and policies. Mr. Sok is also called on by government agencies, national institutions and international development organizations to advise on development law and public policy matters. He advises the Council for the Development of Cambodia and Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training on policy issues at the intersection of labor market governance and national investment promotion. He counseled the national Arbitration Council on legal determinations that set standards for labor rights and obligations in workplaces across the country.

Mr. Sok speaks extensively, both on a national and regional level, on various aspects of private sector development, labor market governance, employment law, and dispute resolution. Prior to founding Sok Xing & Hwang, Mr. Sok was executive director of the Arbitration Council Foundation where he designed and executed multi-million dollar international development law and private-public partnership projects, including with the EU, USAID and World Bank.

Whether counseling multinationals on organizational restructurings, advising government and state institutions on public policy development, or designing and managing international development law projects in Cambodia, Mr. Sok brings leadership, innovation, pragmatism and integrity to guide matters to successful conclusion.
